In this guide, we will detail the steps to opt-out of mobile providers (Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile) from selling your data, sharing your Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) and to stop sending you personalized ads.
Verizon
To access Verizon's privacy settings, log into your account and then go to the Privacy Preference Page.
The first dropdown allows you to opt out of Verizon sharing your Customer Proprietary Network Information. CPNI includes services purchased (including specific calls you make and receive), related local and toll billing information, the type, destination, technical configuration, location and amount of use of purchased services.
Click on the CPNI tab. Here, select don't share for each of your phone numbers and hit save changes.
You can also opt out of having your CPNI shared by calling 1-800-333-9956.
To opt-out of personalization, go to the Privacy Preferences pages, and at the bottom, you'll see Custom Experience and Custom Experience Plus. For both of these click Don't Use and hit save changes.
Lastly, to opt-out of having your data shared for business insights, click on the Business and Marketing Insights tab. To learn more about what Business and Marketing Insights means, visit Verizon's FAQ page on the topic. Similar to the other tabs, make sure you select don't use and hit save changes.
AT&T
To opt-out of having AT&T share your CPNI, you can fill out their online form. You will need the billing account number and the billing zip code. Make sure to click the Restrict use of my CPNI box before you hit submit.
To opt-out of personalization, visit your AT&T privacy preferences section. On the page where you can find personalization settings, make sure you turn each of them on. NOTE: BlackCloak recommends keeping Identity Verification on for all of your devices.
To opt out of the selling of your personal data, you can fill out this form on the AT&T website. You can also call 866-385-3193. NOTE: You can also opt-out of personalization on this page as well, as designated by the selections below.
T-Mobile
To make adjustments to your T-Mobile settings, start by logging in and visiting this page.
Be sure to toggle off all of the options so they appear grey.
You can also make changes by calling support at 1-800-937-8997.
