How to Make Sure Your Apps Are Updated

Downloading Updates on Apple

Setting Up Automatic Downloads

To ensure any apps you download from the App Store update automatically, go to Settings>App>App Store and then make sure App Updates is toggled on.

Updating Apps Manually

  • Go to the App Store app on your iPhone.
  • Tap the My Account button or your picture at the top right.
  • Scroll down, then tap Update next to apps you want to update, or tap Update All.

Downloading Updates on Android

Setting Up Automatic Downloads

  • Open the Google Play app.
  • At the top right, tap your Profile picture.
  • Tap Settings and then Network Preferences and then Auto-update apps.
  • Select an option:
    • Update all apps over Wi-Fi or mobile data
    • Update with limited amount of mobile data
    • Update over Wi-Fi only
    • Don’t auto-update apps

Updating Apps Manually

  • Open the Google Play app.
  • At the top right, tap the profile icon.
  • Tap Manage apps & device.
  • Under “Updates available,” tap See details.
  • Next to the app you want to update, tap Update.
  • To update all your apps at the same time, tap Update all.
