Google Releases Emergency Security Update For Chrome Browser

Google has released a new security update for its Chrome browser after a high severity vulnerability was discovered. Google confirmed the vulnerability has been actively exploited, which could potentially result in account takeovers and the loss of sensitive information.

If you aren't sure whether you are running the latest version of Chrome, it's important to update your browser as soon as possible.

Apple Issues New Update With Security Patches

Apple has released security updates to address more than 30 vulnerabilities found across its slate of devices.

These alerts are available for various iPhone and iPad models, Macs, the Apple Vision Pro, Apple Watches and Apple TVs.

If you own an Apple device, it's highly recommended you download these updates as soon as possible.

What Devices Are Affected?

  • iPhone XS and later, iPad Pro 13-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd generation and later, iPad Pro 11-inch 1st generation and later, iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad 7th generation and later, and iPad mini 5th generation and later

  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch 2nd generation, iPad Pro 10.5-inch, and iPad 6th generation

  • macOS Sequoia, Sonomoa and Ventura

  • Apple Vision Pro

  • Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K (all models)

  • Apple Watch Series and later (all models)

How to Check Your Device's OS Version

If you want to see what OS version your device is currently running, click the Settings icon>General>Software Update.

What To Do About This?

Depending on your device, after you download the update, your operating system should either be:

  • iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5

  • iPadOS 17.7.7

  • macOS Sequoia 15.5

  • macOS Sonoma 14.7.6

  • macOS Ventura 13.7.6

  • watchOS 11.5

  • visionOS 2.5

  • tvOS 18.5
