Starting October 29, 2025, when you open the BlackCloak app, you will be prompted to go through our new Secure Login and In-App Guided Experience. The new In-App Guided Experience is designed to make your initial setup quicker, smoother, and more intuitive, empowering you to take control of your digital protection from day one. It streamlines your journey with BlackCloak, allowing you to review and validate key information directly within the mobile app. This means faster configuration and automatic enrollment into core security services, getting you protected sooner.

How does this work?

Upon your first login to the updated BlackCloak mobile app (or if you're an existing member updating your authentication), you'll be guided through a series of simple steps:

Verify Your Information

You'll be prompted to review and validate key data points identified through our OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) findings. This includes:

  • Email Addresses: Confirm the best email for contact and add any new ones.
  • Phone Numbers: Verify your phone numbers and add additional ones as needed.
  • Home Addresses: Confirm your physical addresses and add new ones (with smart auto-fill!). You can also verify if you're connecting from a home Wi-Fi network to enable Home Network Scanning.
  • Birth Year: Essential for accurate Data Broker Removal services.
  • Scheduling Your Privacy & Exposure Call (For New Members)

New members on eligible plans are encouraged to schedule a Privacy & Exposure Review once the steps are complete. This session will include a review of your protection, current exposures found on the Dark Web, additional device enrollment, and more.

Once you complete the In-App Guided Experience steps, your account will be automatically optimized for:

  • Deep/Dark Web (DDW) Search: All verified email addresses will be enrolled for weekly scanning.
  • Data Broker Removal (DBR) Search: Based on your verified physical assets and birth year.
  • Home Network Scanning: Enabled for your verified physical addresses with captured IP addresses.

  • Faster Protection: Start receiving core BlackCloak services like Deep/Dark Web (DDW) monitoring, Data Broker Removal (DBR), and Home Network Scanning without delay, getting you protected sooner.
  • Greater Control: Directly confirm or update your personal information, ensuring accuracy for your protection services.
  • Streamlined Process: Complete enrollment at your convenience, picking up where you left off if you need to take a break.
  • Improved Concierge Experience: For new members, a more informative and detailed session with our Concierge Team, focusing on your specific needs rather than basic data collection.

Improved Experience for Existing Members

If you're an existing BlackCloak member opening the app for the first time after this release and have updated your account login (link to accompanying KB HERE), you'll be prompted via the In-App Guided Experience to confirm your account information. This ensures you have the most accurate and up-to-date data powering your BlackCloak features.
